今年は例年より少し早く梅の花が開花しました。

Ume-no-hana blossoms have bloomed a bit early in Kumano this year!
The ume blossom has been a harbinger of the end of winter and a sign of purity and beauty since ancient times in Japan, and an important symbol of Tanabe and the Kumano Kodo.
Ume fruit, a kind of Japanese apricot formally translated as “plum,” is part of an agricultural world heritage (Globally Important Agricultural Heritage System) in Tanabe and Minabe.
Many delicious products are made from the fruit like “umeboshi” (a dried, salted and often flavored ume), “umeshu” (ume liqueur sometimes mistranslated as “plum wine”), and even ume juice and extract.
The Kishu Ishigami Tanabe Bairin Ume Orchard is a great place to view them for those with transport, but the ume blossoms can be seen in various places in Tanabe and along the trail.
Let their white and pink blossoms purify your spirit during your Kumano Kodo visit.

梅の花は古来より冬の終わりを告げる使者で、その清らかさと美しさは田辺と熊野古道の大切なシンボルとなっています。
また『みなべ・田辺の梅システム』は世界農業遺産にも登録されており、梅干しや梅酒、梅ジュースや梅エキスといった、さまざまな美味しい製品が梅からつくられています。
紀伊田辺駅からいちばんアクセスしやすいのは『紀州石神田辺梅林』ですが、車がないと行けません。
そうしなくとも、田辺市内のいたるところで梅の花を見ることができます。
熊野古道を歩きとともに、この時期ならではの白とピンクの梅の花も楽しんでください。
